Sam specialises in assessing and qualifying R&D projects, conducting technical interviews, and managing financial data analysis to support claims. He works closely with a wide range of stakeholders – from technical specialists to CEOs – to ensure that R&D claims are robust, accurate, and aligned with legislative requirements. His extensive knowledge of R&D tax legislation enables him to construct detailed technical reports that maximise claim value while maintaining compliance.

With a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, Africa’s top-ranked university, Sam has developed expertise in process engineering, software, marine engineering, and brewing and distillation. One of his proudest professional achievements is supporting iOra, a leading company in high-latency, low-bandwidth data compression and replication, helping them secure vital funding to drive continued innovation.

Outside of work, Sam is passionate about film, surfing, and football. Having lived on three different continents by the age of seven, he brings a global perspective to both his personal and professional life.
